How to Record Internal Audio on Mac or Windows

Hello people, today I will show you how to record internal audio on Windows or Mac or Linux.

So all you need is a free software called Audacity which you can download through this link:

https://www.audacityteam.org/

After you downloaded it, you need to install it. After you installed it you can continue reading or watch this video where I performed the method on Windows:

Step 1: On Windows
1. Open Audacity then choose Windows WASAPI as the Audio Host

2. And then set the Recording Device as your speaker. In my case it is Lautsprecher (Realtek(R) Audio) (loopback).

If you are not sure what is your speaker name, you can check it in your volume control in the taskbar as shown:

Or in the 'Sound' section in the Control Panel in the 'Playback' tab
Usually it is shown as 'Default Device' and has a green checkmark on the icon.
And in the Audacity usually it is shown with '(loopback)'

3. Record! Start playing the music or audio you wanted to record and then just press the red circle to record. To save it as .mp3 you can click 'file' and then Export>Export as MP3

For Mac is still the same, the only difference is that you need to install an additional software called Soundflower which is also a free software.

1. Configure Soundflower:

Click the Apple menu to Open System Preferences on your Mac, select Sounds, switch to the Output tab and set Soundflower (2ch) as the device for sound output. Open the Soundflowerbed app (you can find it through Spotlight) and it will add a Flower item to your menu bar. Click the flower and set Built-in Output for Soundflower 2ch.

2. Record! After you finished configuring Soundflower all you need to do is just set Soundflower 2ch as the recording device in Audacity and then record normally.
